Love this so much, the way you write moves me and us so much! And few years ago I used to wake up at 3 every morning and I decided to make it the most holly: turned my house into 17th century with the amount of candles and I started praying and writing. A book came out of it so it was definitely “something” waking me up for a reason. I still look at that time with nostalgia:)
Best yet! It reminds me of the week I played the same cd on repeat after having our shared apartment broken into in San Francisco. (I had loaned my stereo to a friend for a party during the robbery.) Sleeping on the futon directly on the floor with no rug or alarm clock or change jar or family videos in the corner of the room—with that same Cocteau Twins cd playing for a full week changed me and taught me and released me from a bit of my clutch on my things, real and mental.
